Read Aloud Day

Read Aloud Day 2017
October 19, 2017
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

SVAB is looking forward to the 32nd anniversary of Read Aloud Day, which will take place on Thursday, October 19th. On this day, six hundred and fifty volunteers who live and work in the greater Bridgeport community will gather in the schools to share their love of reading with every pre-kindergarten through sixth grade class in the Bridgeport Public Schools. We hope that the enthusiasm shown by our volunteers for reading and learning will inspire children to continue reading on their own and develop the skills that will make them successful in school and life.

The organization will provide the books, which have been selected for each grade level. Volunteers will share such wonderful stories as The Cow Who Climbed a Tree and Mr. Ferris and His Wheel.  All books will be donated to the classroom libraries after they are read.

Please call the office to find out more about this rewarding event or return the registration form posted on this website.
