Mission Statement
The mission of the Bridgeport Public Schools and its supporting community is to graduate all students “college ready” and prepared to succeed in life.
Physical Education Philosophy:
Physical education will provide all students with a cardiovascular workout. Classes will be conducted in a manner to allow all students to be successful, safe and challenged.
Students will be introduced to a number of basic skills and movements that will be built upon and nurtured into lifetime sports. All Bridgeport physical education students will have the skills and knowledge to pursue healthy habits as adults. Physical education will be a vehicle to promote self-esteem, integrity and fair play.
Physical education will also connect directly with our “traditional curriculum” and help prepare our students for standardized tests and institutes of higher learning.
Physical education lessons and curriculum will be developed from the State of Connecticut’s Content Standards for Physical Education.
