BRIDGEPORT PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO
EXTEND
2010-2011 SCHOOL
YEAR
Bridgeport, CT – February 16, 2011
– Due to
the recent inclement weather, the Bridgeport Board of Education decided to
extend the 2010-2011 school year to Thursday,
June 23 for students and Friday,
June 24 for teachers. This resolution provides 182 instructional
days, sustains186 teacher contractual days, and allows for 2 additional snow
days for a total of 9 snow days for the year (to date there are 7 snow
days).
Additionally, in the
event that there are 10 or more snow days total, days will be taken from April break to make up the
days.
The mission of the Bridgeport Public Schools and its supporting
community is to graduate all students “college ready” and prepared to succeed in
